Recreational & Academy Differences

Skyline is excited and proud to announce a new soccer ACADEMY program starting Fall 2021. The Academy program is a pathway for recreational players and teams U8-U15, looking for more player and team development and exposure to a more competitive environment. The Academy programs allows teams and players the benefit of staying on a team with friends, but adds in a weekly developmental training session with Skyline Staff coaching. The staff coach trains the entire team once a week and focuses on Technical and Tactical training to further develop each player and the team as a whole. This is a great blend of recreational players and teams becoming more competitive players.

Skyline continues to have Recreational and Competitive programs, but saw a need for the in between. Academy program has the benefits of recreational with the staff training to become more competitive. This program is offered for players U8-U15.

Teams are recreational with a desire to become more developed and competitive.

  1. Teams receive 5 training sessions with a Skyline Staff coach for practice.
  2. Skyline staff coach will work closely with team coach to assist team coach with team and player development
  3. Teams will play at the appropriate level of CSA Front Range League or Interleague.
  4. Players will be evaluated by Skyline Staff coach, making them a known player should they want to play competitive later.
  5. Staff training makes sure recreational players aren’t falling behind in their development and prepares them for later competitive and High School teams.
  6. Season runs the same as recreational, Fall and Spring.
